Posters

Registered participants of the 6ECM will have the opportunity to present their mathematical work in the form of a poster.
  1. Decisions regarding the acceptance of posters will be made by the Poster Committee, appointed by the Executive Organizing Committee, on the basis of an abstract of the poster.
Comment: Some Congress participants may obtain local funding if their posters are accepted. In order to speed up the acceptance process, there will be two deadlines for submissions.
  1. Abstracts of posters should be submitted through the on-line application form, which is accessible after registration for the 6ECM. [See guidelines for authors of posters how to prepare the abstracts at the bottom of this site]. Those who submit abstracts before February 15, 2012, will be notified before March 15, 2012. Alternatively, those submitting abstracts before April 30, 2012, will be notified before May 15, 2012. Abstracts submitted after April 30, 2012, will not be considered.
  2. Accepted posters will be grouped according to subject. Authors will be asked to be present and available for questions and discussions during a specified period. Abstracts of the accepted posters will be available through the 6ECM website after the authors have confirmed their registration and paid the conference fee. The pdf files of the posters will be available at the website on the day of the poster session.
  3. Authors of posters are encouraged to prepare their material thoroughly. Posters should present the main points of a mathematical work in a synthetic form that can be quickly grasped by other mathematicians. A poster should be displayed on some flat material, usually cardboard, of approx. A0 size, which is 84 cm (width) by 118 cm (height) - i.e. portrait format. Posters will be affixed to ad-hoc vertical panels.
  4. If you wish your poster to be published on the 6ECM website, you should upload the file of the poster in pdf format via your account not later than June 15 (new date), 2012.
  5. Posters should be delivered to the conference office not later than July 2, 2012. Only posters of the authors present at the 6ECM will be displayed. Upon arrival at the Congress, registered participants presenting posters will receive information concerning the precise exhibition place and the time for presentation of their posters, when their presence is expected. Authors may be asked for their help in posting the posters.
  6. Posters presented at the exhibition will be entered in a competition. Decisions of the jury will be announced at the closing ceremony of the 6ECM.

A few posters are still in review. We will inform the authors about the result as soon as possible. We apologise for not meeting the deadline of 15th May.
